During the 1980s, the local toddy shop at Kuravankuzhi was famous for its tasty ‘naadan shappu food’. It had been so till the end of the 1990s; however, in 1999 the shop was closed. One year later, in the December of the year 2000, the shappu was reopened as a restaurant with the name “Vazhiyorakkada” that serves traditional Kerala food. Our concept was to serve good and tasty local Kerala cuisine in a clean and neat traditional environment.
